What is your favorite 0 Point Freestyle food? For me it’s the array of vegetables that we can have that are all 0 points.
While I’m ecstatic that vegetables don’t count as any Freestyle points, especially corn, I don’t always like vegetables just steamed on their own. Raw vegetables are fine for dips and snacks, but at dinner I like a more dressed up side dish to go with my meat or fish.
And, if you are like me, you like to have a more substantial snack from time to time. Something to go with lowfat or baked chips, as well as something to dip your fruit into!

Weight Watchers Freestyle 0 Point Side DishesÂ
Asparagus in Mustard Dill Sauce
Fresh Bunch of Asparagus Spears – about 2-3 Pounds
1/2 Cup of Fat Free Chicken Broth
1/4 Cup of Dijon Mustard
1/2 Teaspoon of Dried Dill
Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Trip the bases of the asparagus spears. Line a rectangular baking dish with parchment paper. Lay asparagus spears on it.
- In a bowl, combine the broth and the mustard. Combine thoroughly and spread on top of the spears.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until the spears are crisp, yet tender.
- Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle dill and fresh pepper on top.
- This makes 4-6 servings at 0 Points per serving. Enjoy!

Savory Spiced Rainbow Chard
1 Bunch of Rainbow Chard
2 Garlic Cloves, Chopped
1/2 Teaspoon Each Za’atar Seasoning, Salt and Ground Black Pepper
Juice of 1 squeezed fresh Lemon
Vegetable Cooking Spray
DIRECTIONS:
- Wash chard well and drain in a colander. Tear the leaves off the stems, while keeping the stems and leaves separated. Bundle the leaves and cut them into wide strips. Trim the stems, remove the strings on them and slice about 1/4″ thick.
- Heat a large skillet that has been sprayed with vegetable cooking spray over medium heat. Add in garlic along with the stems, za’atar, salt and pepper. Add in about 1/4 cup of water. When the stems start to soften, increase the heat a tad more and add the leaves. Cook and stir about 3 minutes or until the leaves are tender.
- Turn off heat and squeeze a fresh lemon on top of the rainbow chard.
- This entire recipe serves about 4 and is 0 Freestyle Points. Enjoy!
