My Weight Watchers Journey
I began my Weight Watchers (WW) journey years ago, purely driven by the realization that I had way too much weight to lose. Of course, the prospect of hiring a personal trainer or anything like that was out of reach for me, and truth be told, I’ve never been a big fan of exercise. So I knew if exercise was going to be a huge factor in this, I most likely would not stick to it.
Making Sustainable Lifestyle Changes
And that’s where WW came in. It wasn’t just about losing weight; it was about making sustainable lifestyle changes. Unlike a traditional “DIET,” I saw it as a gateway to a healthier relationship with food and my body weight.

So I had to not just “go on a diet”, lose the weight and start over again – but this had to be a complete deep re-teaching of what to eat. Now, I don’t like the words: portion control. I will never be a 1/4 cup of Tuna Salad or 1/2 cup of Pasta type of girl – ever. I ate how much I wanted, when I wanted and as often as I wanted.

Understanding the concept of a calorie deficit is important – but not really. Now it just not about cutting calories; it was about finding the right balance between calorie intake and expenditure. I realized that obsessing over the number of calories wasn’t productive. Instead, I focused on eating lots of the WW 0 Point Foods that are super filling and satisfying.

Following a low-calorie diet wasn’t sustainable for me in the long run. I just did normal household chores and the weight loss took care of itself. I believe this: weight loss starts in the kitchen – fitness starts in the gym. Enough said.

One of the biggest challenges people face are the effects of sedentary lifestyles. With many of us spending hours seated at desks or in front of screens, it’s easy to fall into patterns where you are not moving around as much. This can negatively impact our health. Just try to make a conscious effort to move around a bit more throughout the day. Experts say there are a lot of health benefits to a more active lifestyle and even light exercise helps your cortisol levels.
Nourishing Your Body
Since this has been a part of my life for some time now, I read a lot of helpful information on nutrition. Especially about the benefits of a high-protein diet and began incorporating more protein-rich foods into my meals. It’s important to remember the importance of healthy fats and the role they play in supporting a slower metabolism. With WW – no foods are off limits. Not one.
