It’s October and the air is getting crisp and we are trading in our barbecue grills for our crock-pots. Salads are going to have to take a backseat while we make way for some good ole comfort food. Today, I am sharing our 3 tantalizing crock-pot recipes perfect for Fall. I am sure they will soon become family favorites so let’s get cooking.
3 Tantalizing Crock-Pot Recipes
Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
This delicious dinner uses only 5 simple recipes and I am sure you might have a couple of them already in your kitchen cupboards. It is basically creamy chicken stew with the dumplings in there too. Except you don’t have to whip out the Bisquick to make the dumplings, you use store bought refrigerated biscuits and cut them into smaller pieces. Pair this dish with a wedge of iceberg lettuce and some creamy ranch dressing and you are good to go. This is a kid favorite as well.
Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup
This is another recipe where I am sure you have a few of the ingredients on hand already. This is a hearty protein laden powerhouse of a soup. Say that 5 times fast! It is also very economical since there is no meat. But it has protein from the beans and the lentils. I think that the added red wine vinegar is what makes this soup so delicious. Add some cornbread and you got yourself a dinner that your family will thank you for.
Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese
Who doesn’t love macaroni and cheese? But instead of boiling the noodles and then baking them, everything gets done in the crock-pot. It’s super fast to throw together and is so creamy because of the evaporated milk. And I would not doubt that you have all these ingredients right now in your kitchen to make this oldie but goodie.
There you have our 3 favorite crock-pot recipes for Fall. And they are very frugal since two of them are meatless. If you want to add a delicious homemade bread to round out any of these meals, try our Squishy Bread Recipe as well.
